About Us.
In the year 2010 some friends of 2003 matriculation batch of “Masjidbati Parbati High School” (H.S.) thought to create an initiative to think and take some initiatives to work on mitigating the social problems in Sundarban. First, they started informally with some micro finance and computer training. Then one Society was registered in the year 2010 named “Prachesta Welfare Society” at Masjidbati in Basanti. After there were some challenges. They (The team of the friends) gradually went outside for their education and Job purpose. So, few years later the initiative was gradually little slow and inactive. Again, the initiative was taken over their younger fellow Mr. Suchandan Mistry, who continued the computer education training Centre. At that centre He organised many short- term vocational training batches like – Computer Training, Tailoring Training, Beautician training and also Cultural training (like – Music, Recitation, Drawing). The computer centre was run a Franchise by “BIIT” (Bharat Institute of Information Technology). Even from the year 2018 an annual Cultural Programme (Recital, Drawing, Song, Dance, Debate, Quiz and Exhibition) used to organise on the observation day Swami Vivekananda’s birth day wish was started in the Banner of “Prachesta Welfare Society”. Thus a lot of local student and people were encouraged for active participation. The programme was continued till the year of covid attack. In that initiatives a local magazine was also start. The magazine name was “Prabah”, it means “Flow”. The content of the magazine were Rhyme, Poem, Prose, Sort stories, which have been collected from local students and people. Everything was going well. But unfortunate during “Amphan” disaster all the papers / documents of “Prachesta” were lost. After few years Mr. Suchandan Mistry again started with full of encouragement and energy. He has registered and started a foundation (Non-profit organization) under section 8 company act (MCA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India) and its name “FAMEDU INDIA FOUNDATION” in short “FIF” in the year 2023. FAME + EDU = FAMEDU. “Fame” is a English word, means reputation, “Sukhyati / Sunam” (in Bengali). It is a foundation, from where students get digital literacy and some basic computer knowledge. And this education will support them at least to enter in the job sector. Now the Centre is located in “Gosaba” block, also has registered at this address. The “FIF” is now successfully continuing the computer training, Job grooming / Career counselling for the students of Gosaba & Basanti block..

Why Our Journey
Milestones that define our path to excellence
Foundation
It is about 100 km distance from Kolkata to Sundarban. Mainly the Sundarban area is in the Southern and South-eastern part of West Bengal. The Sundarban area is a full of Mangroves (near 16 million mangroves are there). A major percentage of Oxygen is produced from this area. The people from different area of the world comes to Sundarban to visit as there are many types of Mangroves, Animals like Royal Bengal Tiger, Deer, Wild Pigs, Giant Crocodile and the natural beauty. The Sundarban area is consisted with many multiple sizes deltas. Many attracted facts are there in Sundarban to attract the tourist but in other hand there are many lacks which are directly and indirectly affecting the daily living of the local citizen. Specifically, the natural disaster, lack of drinking water and also water for cultivation, lack of infrastructural development, no proper, technical, Digita, Vocational and Cultural education centre available. Even there is no Counselling and Motivational centre. Very lengthy and poor communication among the deltas. These all-result unemployment, poverty, Migration, Bad health, lack of social safety, and all these are continuing as cycle wise. That is why an initiative was taken by the local students. It was decided to start and increase the digital literacy as that is one of the problem in the rural Sundarban for have taken the initiative to work on education mainly on technical, digital, skill development and lack of social safety among the above issues
Our Initiatives
Driving positive change through our key initiatives
Computer training Programme
The computer Training is the flagship programme of “FIF” (Famedu India Foundation). As at the very beginning it was targeted to work on the employability for the Unemployed in the Sundarban Area, the “FIF” emphasises on the Career counselling, digital literacy and employable soft skill development for the youth and the Computer training is the on-going programme. Among rural people there are some lacks like awareness on career, job opportunity and along with that the soft skill lack is there. Even there are very few training centres are available who continuously provide the computer education, because of low rate of admitted students, thus the cost of running the centre is sometimes goes to cross the earning thus maximum centre do not sustain properly. The “FIF” has a very good networking with the surrounding schools and each of the years “FIF” mobilise a number of students of class X and XII after their exam to learn about Digital skill. There are many courses available like – I. ADPOM II. ADPDEO III. ADPWD IV. CPCSP V. ADPAT VI. ADPE VII. CPBCK Etc. After the completion of the courses the students get acknowledgment certificate, and they can show that to the employer later when they are decided to enter in the job sector.
Livelihood – Vocational / Skill training -
Apart from the Computer training, “FIF” organise some skill based short term livelihood training such as – Beautician, Tailoring etc. There are many women successfully started their individual enterprises after getting training from “FIF”.
Awareness / Sensitizing on Environment and sustainability
It is one of the most important objectives of “FIF” which is “Environment” and “sustainability”. This programme is mainly focuses on sensitisation and awareness development on environment and sustainability among the community. All know that Sundarban is a high-risk zone on natural disaster and now a day people are also making cause of disaster indirectly due to their less awareness. Even people are going to destroy the natural food supply chain through their daily living style and sometimes they do not think about the sustainability of the environment and food. Thus “FIF” decided first to aware the people by organising community-based awareness meeting, tree Plantation, Cleanliness of Environment and also convince the people to follow the reuse, reduce method.
Social Participation (Leadership and vision building, cultural development)
It is known to all that at this present situation the adolescent and youth are going to forget the family responsibilities, social responsibilities. They have very low respect to the seniors, to the tradition, even they have very low vision for their future. So, the initiative has been taken to sensitise them, to make them aware on these topics, creating leadership through meeting and training. Even it is noticed that the digital platform (Social media, mobile phone) sometimes is one of the reasons for that. So, make them aware about the good and bad effect of digital platform.
OLD age persons groups (As the resource group) to transfer their knowledge through interface meeting. To protect the children from impersonality
“Experience is more important than Knowledge”, this was quoted by a poet Mr. Santosh Kalwar. It also proved several times that the Experience has the more power that Education and Knowledge and skills. So for guiding and supporting for the entire programme, “FIF” decide to reach out to the Old aged persons, organise them in groups and collect their experience and knowledge for the next Generations betterment. Even to get their voluntary support in event, thus the Generation gap will be reduced and the Old people will be engaged in making their future Generation’s wellbeing / strong.
